CPM slams Mamata's relevance bid

title=SNS Kolkata, | 12 November, 2015: The CPI-M on Wednesday alleged that Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee was “basking in the reflected glory of the Bihar grand alliance” in her desperate bid to be politically relevant at the national level by coming closer to JD(U),RJD and other regional parties.
Stating that the Trinamul supremo had already lost “lot of political credibility” in her own state owing to various reasons, CPI-M politburo member Md Selim said the Trinamul chief had been desperately trying to be close to the JD(U), RJD and other regional parties to be politically relevant at the national level.
“She is desperate to get political mileage by coming closer to these parties”, he said. “It is ridiculous that the person who is known for her extreme political intolerance over her political adversaries in West Bengal, has described the grand alliance’s election victory as triumph of tolerance over intolerance,” he said, adding that “such an expression is akin to Saradha chit fund accused Madan Mitra’s talk of triumph of honesty (when he got bail)”.
Slamming the Trinamul supremo for her “ever-changing political stand” ever since her link with the UPA and the NDA in power, Md Selim said “had it been the victory of the BJP in Bihar elections, no wonder Mamata Banerjee would have congratulated Narendra Modi with a bouquet”.
The CPI-M leader said that the grand alliance partners should be aware about Mamata Banerjee’s “bonhomie” with the saffron party and her unprincipled politics “particularly in the context of the secret understanding with Narendra Modi for slowing down CBI probe into Saradha chit fund scam to garner Trinamul Congress support for tha NDA in the Rajya Sabha and to get relief from the ongoing investigation”.
To a question,he said that post-Bihar result was being analysed in the party since the grand alliance’s success would impact national politics. Claiming that Mamata Banerjee's protest against BJP is "an eyewash to divert people's atention', he said 'whatever be her stand towards the saffron party,we (the left) will not allow any activity of the communal force and any bid to drive a wedge between communities'.
Alleging that total lawlessness had been prevailing in the state, the CPI-M leader said 'from a judge to a journalist, nobody is safe and secure in West Bengal, and it was no wonder that the Trinamul Congress chief was pursuing her 'policy of pampering party-backed goons'.
State of economy in the state was in a shambles with investors shying away from the state and 12 jute mills already closed down and starvation deaths stalking closed tea gardens in North Bengal.
Turning to the six left parties' announcement in Delhi to launch a countrywide campaign programme from 1 to 6 December against rising religious intolerance and rapid growth of communalism, LF chairman Biman Bose said that the Front would also undertake such movement programme with SUCI, CPI(ML-Liberation) and other left parties in the state.
