Tea bonus at 20%
TT, Siliguri, Oct. 8: Tea garden workers in the plains of north Bengal will receive bonus at the rate of 20 per cent this year.
Representatives of planters and tea trade unions based in the Terai and Dooars reached on a consensus on the rate at the third round of bipartite talks in Calcutta yesterday.
Workers serving in all grades of tea estates in the Dooars and Terai will get bonus at 20 per cent.
The Darjeeling Tea Association is, however, yet to take a final decision on the bonus rate.
