AAGSU organises for Gorkhas in Digboi, Assam

PR, KalimNews, Digboi, 6 September 2015:A massive public meeting was organised at Muliabari Sports Ground, Digboi by AAGSU on 6th September, 2015. The meeting was presided by AAGSU President Sh. Prem Tamang.
Gorkhaland Teritorial Administration Chief Executive Bimal Gurung and Bharatiya Gorkha Parisang General Secretary Prof. Munish Tamang were among prominent speakers. Other speakers included representatives of various organisations and leaders of various communities such as Bodo, Dimasa, Rabha and Ahom.
GTA Chief Gurung said he would work for the interests of Gorkhas all over India.He also said that If Gorkhaland is achieved then all the Gorkhas of India will be accommodated in it. 
Prof. MunisT/amang said that the history of Assam is the history of Gorkhas. Gorkhas have been the pioneers in establishing Gorkhas. If the Gorkhas of Assam feel insecure then Assam itself is insecure. Questioning Gorkhas' identity is questioning the very foundations of Assam.
Prof. Tamang also said that Assam is the heart of Indian Gorkhas as the State has the highest number of Gorkhas. Gorkhas in India will prosper only if Gorkhas of Assam prosper.
Prof Tamang also said that no Gorkha of Assam should be left out from the NRC which is currently ongoing.
