Dead body of Bengal Tourist found in Sikkim
TT, Gangtok, Sept. 21: The decomposed body of a tourist from Bengal was found in Tashiling forest near Gangtok yesterday morning.
Police suspect the youth, who went missing from Gangtok on September 13, fell off a cliff and died. Sumit Kedia, 28, was from Chowk Bazaar in Barakar area of Burdwan district.
"He had checked in to a hotel in Gangtok on September 12. Investigations revealed he had come to Sikkim without informing his family. On September 13, he went out of the hotel," said additional district superintendent of police, East, Shiva Prasad.
He added that the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition. "It seems the man fell off a cliff the day he left the hotel.
Prima facie, there is no foul play suspected and it is not a case of suicide," said Prasad
