EOI, KOLKATA
10 Aug 2015:
West Bengal Chief Ministe Mamata Banerjee left for Delhi on Monday with an agenda that included a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
The chief minister who chaired a meeting of senior ministers and officials at the state secretariat Nabanna said that during her meeting with the Prime Minister she would take up the issue of the loss suffered by state in the floods.
``The total loss because of the floods was worth about Rs 30,000 crore and we will demand a package from the Centre so that the loss could be made up.
Farmers will have to be given credit on soft terms and conditions. Meanwhile relief camps will go on and all efforts will be made so that rehabilitation of the flood affected people can be done. Alternative farming will have to be arranged.
I request everybody not to indulge in party politics while distributing relief among flood victims.”
