Chayan Sarkar found, not abducted.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 8th August, 2015 : Chayan Sarkar, who had gone missing from his hometown in Alipurduar district on August 3 was found today. Chayan, a correspondent of Uttar Banga Sambad, a Bengali daily called up police last night claiming he was dropped off by his abductors near a bus stop.
Chayan Sarkar, who was missing for the past five days, called the local O.C last night from a place near Coochbehar town bus stand and informed that he himself was coming to the police station. Chayan came by a rickshaw and surrendered at the police station. Police sources said that he was questioned at Kotwali police station in Coochbehar and brought to Alipurduar and presented to the CID. Chayan had been missing after the arrests and bail out of eight persons whom he had named in an FIR for issuing threats to him and vandalising his house.
It is alleged that after the publication of a story in his paper he was threatened by TMC leaders. The story covered a news of alleged bribery racket of local TMC cadres in a local college's admissions.
During his missing Chayan's motorbike and his notebook with wallet were found near Salsalabari Railway station in Alipurduar town on August 3. Political parties, Press Associations staged demonstration and called strike in protest against his disappearance and alleged that Chayan was abducted by TMC cadres.
CID officials brought Chayan at I G North Bengal's office and later took him to Alipurduar Court after medical examination."Chayan confessed that he was not abducted but gone missing himself by boarding Kanchanjunga Express from Kamakhyaguri and came to Guwahati. A personal problem caused him to do so., He ran out of money so he decided to return back" , stated the IG.
Sunil Kumar Yadav special superintendent of CID stated that Chayan was facing a marital problem with his wife and is mentally disturbed.
Gyanwant Singh, Inspector General (North Bengal) confirmed the return of Chayan and added that he is sent back to his home and not arrested. "There is no family problem and its all lie" said Chayan's younger brother Ayan. Chayan had informed me that he was brought to additional SP's office, said Ayan.
