Helpline for North East people living in Delhi

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 16 July 2015: Delhi Police has started a Whatsapp helpline number for any female or male travelers in Delhi city for security.Robin Hibu (IPS), Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police and Nodal Officer for North East Region has requested all social media for publicity of the information issued in a Whatsapp message. 

In order to further deter any crimes against any female travellers in the city of Delhi Delhi police has launched dedicated mobile phone number 8800001091 as a precautionary measure. 

Since north east people including Gorkhas at Delhi are very vulnerable and targeted by them and many cases of molestation, robbery, loot by drivers have been reported by north east people while travelling in Delhi this special helpline is provided. 

For this any male or female traveler can take photo of the auto, taxi / cab registration number and the driver before starting the journey from any part of Delhi and send it by whatsapp to this number. 

This will be kept as record at police headquarters and will help the victim in case of any mishap or criminal act against him or her during his or her journey. 

Sending of whatsapp will also deter potential criminal drivers from committing crimes against any one.
