Golay hits out at state

Nirmal Mangar, TT, Gangtok, July 23: P.S.Golay, the president of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, today alleged that the state government had failed to keep the promise of regularising jobs of casual workers in different government departments.
"This is really sad to note that the government has failed to regularise the jobs of those who have been working in different government departments, despite the promise the SDF had made before the Assembly election in 2014," said Golay.
Around 1,700 employees who are working for more than 10 years but less than 15 years were handed office memos just before the election in 2014 stating that their jobs would be regularised after the election. The workers are class D employees such as drivers, peons and office assistants.
