Deb-Asok meet
TT, Siliguri, May 31: Minister Gautam Deb today said it was up to the Siliguri mayor to decide if he would meet him at Uttarkanya on June 8.
"The mayor had sought an appointment in writing. Accordingly, my office has communicated and fixed the appointment at the earliest possible time. It is on June 8. It is entirely up to the mayor to decide if he will meet me. From my side, there is no problem in meeting him."
Mayor Asok Bhattacharya could not meet two state ministers in Calcutta recently.
Despite having prior appointments, the mayor was told that both Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee were busy as the Assembly session was in progress.
After returning to Siliguri, Bhattacharya had said: "I will speak to party colleagues and SMC councillors, check out my schedule and then decide whether I will go and meet the minister (Deb) in Uttarkanya."
