Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee sees danger in Didi-Modi links

TNN | May 13, 2015, KOLKATA: When the Didi-Modi chemistry is the buzz in Bengal political circles, former chief minister and CPM politburo member Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee saw it as the rise of fascist forces in the country.
Back in his old-form, a clean shaven Buddha spoke for an hour at the CPM's Kolkata office on Tuesday to explain that the danger lies in the rise of the extreme right forces - RSS that has the least regard for the Constitution. "The extreme rightwing forces have come to power joining hands with the corporates like it happened during the rise of Nazi forces in Germany. The RSS pays little heed to the Constitution. They are working for a Hindu rashtra. But they have roped in the corporates," Bhattacharjee said while speaking at a party programme to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism.
The CPM politburo member also accused Trinamool of having fascist features. "Attack police stations, heckle people, slap false charges against them, and go on telling lies... These are the symptoms of fascist operations. Mamata Banerjee doesn't mind tying up with such forces - RSS or Chhatradhar Mahato. She once called the latter a patriot. The court has jailed him for waging war against state," the former CM said.
