Hashish worth Rs80 lakh seized in Naxalbari

EOI, SILIGURI, 2 Apr 2015: Customs officials of the Panitanki unit on Thursday recovered 8kg of hashish from Naxalbari.
They have arrested two persons who were carrying the contraband in a Maruti WagonR with registration number WB 76 9425. The arrested have been identified as Sitam Gurung (24) of Naxalbari and Rekha Gurung (32), a resident of Sunsari, Nepal.
The hashish, worth nearly R 80 lakh, was found in a black suitcase under a seat. The duo was produced before the Siliguri court and sent to 14 days judicial custody.
