Stage set as chief minister reaches Siliguri today

SNS, Siliguri, 18 January 2015: The stage is all set for chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s arrival in Siliguri tomorrow. The CM is scheduled to hold an ‘Industry Meet’ at Uttarkanya, the branch secretariat for north Bengal, tomorrow, while she will inaugurate the Uttar Banga Utsav-2015 at the Kanchenjungha Stadium here on Tuesday.
Several officials of departments concerned, engineers,contractors and workers are working here day in day out on a war footing for the ‘Industry Meet’ and the festival inauguration.
Officials engaged in the construction of the guest house, including the CM’s suite, at Uttarkanya were giving finishing touches till late in the evening today, before they hand them over to security officials of the chief minister.
Miss Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to inaugurate the guest house to mark the first anniversary of the branch secretariat that was opened on 20 January last year. Officials, however, did not say whether she will inaugurate the guest house tomorrow.
North Bengal Development minister Mr Gautam Deb held a series of meetings with official concerned, including the divisional commissioner, districtmagistrates and the Siliguri police commissioner, at Uttarkanya till late in the evening today.
The chief minister is scheduled to address ‘Industry Meet’ at around 4 pm tomorrow, while the event is being organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation.
