WB Govt, Trinamool will resist any attempt to form Gorkhaland: Deb

EOI, PTI, Darjeeling, 27 Nov 2014: North Bengal Development minister Gautam Deb on Thursday said the state government and the Trinamool Congress will resist any attempt to divide the state and create Gorkhaland and alleged that BJP was "hatching a conspiracy to foment trouble" across Bengal on the issue.
"It seems the BJP and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha are making another attempt to separate Darjeeling from Bengal. We want to make it clear that all possible effort would be put up by our government as well as our party to resist any attempt to divide the state," Deb said in Siliguri.
"The BJP is hatching a conspiracy to foment trouble across Bengal. That is why it is inciting the Morcha to raise the demand for Gorkhaland again. "We will not tolerate such acts that can lead to breach of law and order. I will go to Kolkata tomorrow and speak with party leaders and senior ministers on the Facebook post (of GJM president Bimal Gurung) to decide the future course of action," he said when asked to comment on Gurung's FB post.
GJM president and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Chief Executive Bimal Gurung had written in his Facebook post on Monday "I am happy to inform to all our supporters that Rajnath Singh, Hon'ble Home Minister has agreed to set up a committee to examine our century old demand of Gorkhaland."
