NGO for welfare of underprivileged to open branch in Darjeeling
EOI, Darjeeling, 28 Nov 2014: Who Cares, a Kalimpong-based NGO that works for the welfare of underprivileged people such as beggars and homeless, is set to inaugurate a branch in Darjeeling on November 30.
The NGO, founded on January 4, 2012, is based at Thana Dhara, in Kalimpong. Its members who call themselves ‘Team Who Cares’ have been working actively in the town to bring happiness and hope to the neglected people of the society. During the daytime, they can be seen cutting hairs, chopping off nails, feeding and bathing the homeless people across the hills. Meanwhile, they also organize free eye-screening camps and career counselling for the general people and youth fraternity of the town.
Now, this team is taking an initiative to help change Darjeeling region for better. They long to work for the homeless people of the town and create humble happiness in the queen of hills. Hence, they are looking for volunteers from Darjeeling willing to work with them.
