Unexpected rainfall in Siliguri

Clouds shrouded the skies and with a nip in the air, while people were seen scurrying into their woolens.“It looks that winter is here finally. This is the season I enjoy the most despite the stint of cold. It is the time we get to wear warm clothes, drink hot beverages with snacks and huddled at home watching our favourite show on television,” said Adity Dhaiya, a resident of Shivmandir.
People queued in front of tea stalls in the Hill Cart Road area asking for tea to beat the chill, while many offices in city turned off their ACs and fans in the working hours.
Met Department officials said the rains were temporary, but the sudden showers experienced on Tuesday evening were expected to bring down the mercury level considerably.
