
Strike call
TT, Oct. 19: The district leaders of BJP in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar today said that the party would observe a 12-hour general strike in both the districts on November 7, to demand an immediate revision of the wages of the three-lakh odd tea workers in north Bengal.
“At a party meeting in Nagrakata the decision to observe a general strike on the tea wage issue in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar has been taken,” said Dipen Pramanik, the Jalpaiguri district BJP president.
