Shyamal panel members uncertain over report status

saradhaSNS, Kolkata, 26 October 2014: Three days after the completion of the Justice Shyamal Sen Commission’s tenure, the members of the commission are still uncertain whether a comprehensive report was placed before the state government as the commission has not completed action against non-Saradha chit fund companies.
The members of the commission also questioned the legal validity of the report as due to time constraint the commission has failed to take action against all the non-Saradha chit fund companies, which had been started by the commission.
At least two members of the commission did not sign the report of the commission.
A senior member of the commission added that the 404-page report which was prepared by the Justice Shyamal Sen Commission, was incomplete as he failed to provide any detailed probe report of the Saradha scam and the other non-Saradha chit fund companies, which have been equally responsible for duping the depositors.
Senior members of the commission added that if the tenure of the commission had been extended, they would have finished paying compensation to all the duped depositors and also they could initiate action against all the non-Saradha chit fund companies.
The report of the commission also did not mention action against the Saradha bosses who were found involved in the scam.
Although the CBI has announced three names in their charge-sheet who were found guilty in the Saradha scam ~ Sudipto Sen, Debjani Mukherjee and Kunal Ghosh ~ the commission did not mention any action against these people.
On April 2013, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced a Rs 500-crore relief fund to compensate people who lost their money in the ponzi scam. Till now the state government had released Rs 286.5 crore.
