Elderly arrested for molesting minor
EOI, RHENOCK, 22 Oct 2014: Sikkim police on Wednesday arrested a 78 year elderly person in Rhenock, East Sikkim, for sexually molesting a five year old minor.
Police sources said the accused was a resident of Rhenock Bazaar and a shopkeeper by profession.
On September 14, the girl had gone to his shop to purchase a pencil. He lured the minor into his shop and molested her.
Although the complaint was filed more than a month later, the police arrested the elderly and booked him under section 354 (A)/Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012.
