Deb cautions against land mafias
Prashant Acharya, EOI, Siliguri, 12 October 2014: North Bengal Development Department minister Gautam Deb on Sunday cautioned the people of Rajganj block against the land mafia trying to grab the government land. At a land ‘patta’ distribution function Deb said, “The government will not at all tolerate who are trying to grab the government’s land. The irrigation land at the bank of the river Teesta is being grabbed by some ‘Dalals’ and selling it to the poor unknown people. The syndicate and Land Mafia Raj will not be tolerated.”
Deb during the day distributed land Pattas to the villagers under Rajganj block. Block Development Officer of Rajganj, N Sherpa, BLLRO Kaushik Mullick and others were present in the function.
