Wilson Champramari proposes Jaigaon as Alipurduar’s new sub-division

SANJIB MUKHOPADHYAY, EOI, ALIPURADUAR, 31 Jul 2014: The South Presbytery and the Damthang Local Church Committee today conducted the ordination ceremony of Pem Kitar Sherpa, son of Doma Sherpa and Llate Sarkey Sherpa of Damthang South Sikkim. The ordination for the sacred office of the minister of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Sikkim was led by Rev. RO Malommu, who is the Moderator of EPCS.
The Pastor Ordination Service was conducted at EPCS Church in Chemchey South Sikkim, and included Bible readings, readings of the Nicene Creed, prayers along with other important formalities such as the presentation of the Ordination, Attiring in a cassock, the Bible and Blue Book Presentation ceremonies were accompanied by other special events that were part of the ceremony. Rev. Pastor Pem Kitar Sherpa, who represents the Damthang EPCS, has now been posted to the Mangalbarey EPCS West Presbyterian to continue with his services. Sherpa completed his Masters in Divinity from the Dehradun Presbyterian Theological University, Uttarakhand. Till date Damthang has produced two spiritual leaders, namely Pemba Nori Sherpa, former deputy moderator of the EPCS Council of Sikkim and now, Rev. Pem Kitar Sherpa.
