SSB seize illegal items worth 1.5 lakh
DEEP MILAN PRADHAN, EOI, MIRIK, 5 Aug 2014: The jawans of 39th Khaprel battalion of the SSB based in Pasupathi Phatak border-post today confiscated Rs.1.5 lakh worth illegal items, which were being shipped to and from Nepal.
The raid led by the battalion’s assistant commander Abhijeet Sarkar managed to confiscate a horde of illegal items, including dry fruits, pickle bottles, clothing items, soaps and foreign bags being smuggled in from Nepal, along with other items such as Sikkim-made liquor and other local items being shipped into Nepal.
The local people have lauded the SSB for the commendable work, while Pasupathi (Nepal) police outpost in-charge I Thapa congratulated the battalion for busting the illegal smuggling racket.
Meanwhile, local police and customs department have also praised the SSB for the bust.
