Ex SMC Congress councillor joins Trinamool
Prashant Acharya, 19 August: Former Congress councilor in Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday joined Trinamool Congress at a function in Kolkata.
When contacted the ex-councilor Sanjay Pathak confirmed the news and said, “Yes I am leaving the Congress party and joining TMC today at Kolkata.”
Pathak however have not disclosed the reason but the internal party sources have informed that Pathak was planning to join TMC since a few months ago.
Pathak was councilor of ward number 1 on SMC and MIC of the electricity board. Pathak have also served as a general secretary of the Darjeeling District Congress Committee earlier.
