Jaigaon faces water logging problems

EOI, Kalchini, 30 Jun 2014: The continuous torrential rains in the past few days have resulted in water logging and flood-like situation in Jaigaon and Dalshinpara area under Kalchini block. Locals lamented the problems arose due to the negligence of panchayats and JDA officials in repairing drainage system in the region. Many areas in Jaigoan, including Subhashpally, Bhagatsingh Nagar, Bhanubhakta Toll and Church Lane along with Dalsingpara tea garden have developed flood-like situation due to water logging. Kalchini MLA Wilson Champramari informed he will soon visit the affected places to take stock of the situation. “The drainage cannot be repaired now due to the rains, it will have to be done after the rainy season is over,” he added.
