
348 units of blood donated
SNS, Siliguri, 27 July: Members of the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation hailing from the Terai, Dooars Hills and local areas today donated 348 units of blood to blood banks at the North Bengal Medical College in Siliguri, and the Jalpaiguri government Hospital.
Amid a blood donation programme organized at the Nirankari Satsang Bhawan at Matigara near Siliguri, the zonal in-charge of the foundation, Rev Kajiman Chhetri, said such blood donation camps are part of the foundation’s socio-economic activities like 'garbage safai,' tree plantation, and free health and eye check up camps.
“However, the sole aim of the Nirankari Mission is to spread love, compassion, humanity, fellow feelings and give away selfless service to mankind, irrespective of caste ,creed, race, language, culture region or religion,” Mr Chhetri said.
The Nirankari Mission preaches "universal brotherhood” through fatherhood of omnipotent, all pervading, one formless god, Nirankar,” according to a press release issued here by the Press and public relations officer of the Sant Nirankari Mandal, Manoj Anand.
