Army rescue stranded tourist vehicles at Thegu
Around 2000 tourists were returning to Gangtok when they got stuck near Thegu due to a sudden snowfall in the region.
The Black Cat Division personnel located nearby rose to the occasion and in the true military ethics of “Service before Self” helped all 250 tourist vehicles cross the steep slopes near Thegu village.
They braved extreme weather conditions involving snowfall and hailstorm to rescue the vehicles.
More than 3000 tourists visit Tsomgo Lake and Nathula using the route to enjoy the snow on a daily basis.
