6 killed in Namchi road accident
SNS, Namchi, 8 April 2014: Six people were killed and seven injured in a road accident in south Sikkim this morning.
All the six were supporters of the ruling SDF and were headed for a party meeting at Barfung in South Sikkim when the vehicle they were travelling in fell 100 feet down the road. While four of them died on the spot, the others succumbed to their injuries on the way to a hospital in Siliguri.
The dead have been identified as Top Tshering Bhutia, 55; his wife Nimzen Bhutia, 53; Karna Bahadur Kami, 50; Cheden Bhutia, 56; Man Maya Kami, 51; and Gaki Bhutia, 52, all residents of Upper Polok.The cause of the accident at Gufadara under the Barfung Constituency is, however, yet to be ascertained.
