Chhatre Subba joins BJP
TNN, March 23, SILIGURI: Former Gorkhaland Liberation Organisation leader Chhatre Subba joined the BJP on Saturday. Chhatre was the prime accused of the Ghisingh murder attempt case and was jailed for a decade before he was released in September 2011.
"The wind this time is in favour of BJP, which is in favour of smaller states. I have therefore, joined the party as I feel that it is only BJP that can give Darjeeling a separate Gorkhaland state," Subba said.
