Possible friendship brewing up between BJP and GJMM

SNS, Kurseong, 17 December 2013: Will the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha again support a BJP candidate in the forthcoming 2014 Lok Sabha election from the Darjeeling constituency?
Importantly, for the past few days, the GJMM party has been staging different activities in the capital of the country, in support of Gorkhaland.
Meanwhile, to press the demand of a separate statehood, they have been meeting various ministers and leaders.
But the BJP leaders are their main associates as of now in Delhi, who now, sources have revealed, are supporting the GJMM party presently staging their activities in Delhi through different means.&
Not only this time, earlier too whenever the GJMM leadership happened to be in Delhi with a programme the BJP leadership have always welcomed and sided with them in their struggle for a separate state of Gorkhaland.
And why should not the BJP support the ruling GJMM as the latter had given them a MP seat winning by a huge margin in the previous Lok Sabha election.
It was learnt that the GJMM leadership is quietly sitting on the fence but deep inside they have been good political partners as both the parties have been wooing each other.
The same trend of GJMM leaders visiting BJP leaders are going on in Delhi and only yesterday the party general secretary, Mr Roshan Giri with his team met the BJP president Mr Rajnath Singh.
Mr Giri is still in Delhi and there are ample possibilities that he may have agendas to meet other BJP stalwarts regarding their demand and other political points.
The GJMM was in a dilemma in the past few months regarding the 2014 election but the recent wins in the Assembly elections by the BJP has increased the confidence of the GJMM party that it would be wise to support them.
Hence, these factors may be the reason that the two parties have decided to carry on with their honeymoon of political partnership in Darjeeling Hills for the next five years or so.
A senior GJMM leader said: "It is right that the BJP leadership, chiefly Mr Jaswant Singh, has been supporting us in every political strategy in Delhi since earlier times which he was bound to being an MP elected from Darjeeling Constituency, but so far no deal on the 2014 Lok Sabha elections has been done.”
“Hence, to whom the GJMM will finally support, has not been arrived at yet. However, it is not that BJP is not in our minds,” he also added. Notably, in the past general election, the GJMM supported the BJP party and its candidate, Mr Jaswant Singh, who fought the election from Darjeeling constituency winning with a landslide margin.
