SKM hits back at SDF

SNS, Gangtok, 19 November 2013: The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has hit back at the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front in view of the chief minister, Mr Pawan Chamling having mockingly called it on Sunday ‘Sikkim Khaney Morcha’.
“The SKM strongly condemns such disrespectful and uncivilised language used on an Opposition political party by none less than Mr Chamling who holds the high constitutional post of chief minister. The pride of the people in the state is hurt by such irresponsible statement,” said SKM spokesperson, Mr Jacob Khaling.
To term SKM which came up barely nine months back as ‘Sikkim Khaney Morcha’ shows the low the chief minister has stooped, he said, adding that the ruling party has, on the contrary, ‘eaten up’ the natural resources and old laws of Sikkim during its 19 years’ rule.
“The SDF has left Sikkim bleeding white. If we were to go the SDF way we can re-christen SDF as ‘Sikkim Dubuaney Front’. It has plunged the people in debts, poverty and unemployment,” said the SKM spokesperson.
“The SKM is a party formed by the people to clean the dirt accumulated during the black rule of the Chamling dispensation. It is formed to cleanse the society of the communal bugs that have eaten their way deep because of the ruling party’s dark machinations aimed at divide and rule,” he averred.
“If voted to power, we would eradicate poverty in five to 10 years,” he said, slamming SDF for letting the people down despite mouthing false and flamboyant promises.
