Hill TMC to contest polls

SNS, Kurseong 10 November 2013: Finally, the Hill TMC party indicated that it will contest all the coming elections in Darjeeling. 

For the past few months, the TMC is involved in different political activities mainly membership drives at different places in the Hills to strengthen their party base across the Hills. 

Meanwhile, the trend among people from different political parties, including from the present ruling GJMM, to join the TMC is continuing in the Hills. 

Yesterday, around 200 houses from different regions of Darjeeling have reportedly joined the TMC. Hence, the way in which the leaderships in the Hills are keeping themselves busy to garner public support, indicates that they have been looking forward to fight the panchayat and MP elections in the Hills. 

In this connection, when asked, the Hill TMC, general secretary, Mr NB Khawas said that it is true that they have been busy trying to make their party base stronger across the Hills but it is not just to contest the elections. 

Instead the TMC has been promoting themselves in the Hills as a viable alternative to the GJMM, whose real face has been revealed to the people.
