Four injured in accident....three of same family injured as stove bursts

SNS, Kurseong, 11 November 2013: Four passengers including the driver of a vehicle were seriously injured when a Bolero vehicle WB 76-4696 met with an accident near Peshok View point under Rangli Rangliot Police station of Darjeeling subdivision .
The incident occurred this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. when the vehicle was going towards Kalimpong. It was when the vehicle was moving downhill the driver suddenly realised that his brakes were not working.
To save his passengers, the driver served the vehicle in and crashed against a tree injuring most of the passengers.
According to police sources there were 12 passenger in the vehicle out of which 4 are said to have been seriously injured.
Three people of the same family got injured when a stove in which they were cooking their meal burst at Teesta Devgram area.
The incident occurred yesterday evening around 7 p.m. when a female member of the family, Sukmit Lepcha, was cooking.
It is so happened that as kereosene oil had emptied in the stove her husband Ram Bahadur Subba started working to put the oil in the cooking stove when it suddenly burst overwhelming them both as well as their two-year-old girl child who sustained 25 per cent burn according to Kalimpong hospital sources.
When locals heard a loud bursting sound they rushed to the spot and immediately rushed them to the Kalimpong Sub Divisional Hospital for medical aid.
