Rajesh Sharma receives best Reporter award

KalimNews, New Delhi, 30 October 2013: Senior Reporter Rajesh Sharma of Hamro Prajashakti, was awarded the best reporter award today in New Delhi today. The award was presented by Newspapers Association of India to Sharma who is a staff reporter of Hamro Prajashakti, a Nepali daily published from Sikkim and Guwahati.
Sharma has been working as a journalist since 1994 as a correspondent reporter of Dainik Jagaran, Himalayan Mirrir, Rajasthan Patrika, Hindusthan TV, Kalimpong News and Dainandini channel.
During the 21st NAI Achiever Awards 2013 ceremony held in the Constitution Club of India situated at Rafi Marg Sharma and others were awarded.
Sharma the first recipient of the award from North East India is also a member of Kalimpong Press Club and Eastern Himalayan Journalists' Union.Sharma a resident of Kurseong and now reporting from Jaigaon situated in the Indo Bhutan border. He had also covered reports of SAARC and other regional and international matters.
Beside Sharma the award in the following categories of Print Media were awarded to Hackers 5 in the category of Best Magazine, Daily Prakhar Samachar (Raipur) in the category of Best Regional Newspaper, to Salamat Miyan (Danik Yug Karvat) in Best Editor, to Vimal Chauhan in Best Journalist, Dr Riti Thapar in Best Column Writer, to Bhadas 4 media in Best News Portal, to Crimes Warrier Dr. Shankar Lal in Best Web News Channel categories.
In the electronic media the following awards were awarded: to India News as Best News Channel, to Sahara Bihar & Jharkhand as Best Regional News Channel, to Anjeet Vijay 4 Real News as Best News Anchor, to Javed ABP News as Best Reporter, to Arun Singh, Harish Sharma (Aaj Tak) as Best Investigative Journalist, to Indu Sunil Dang (Doordarshan) as Best Cameraman, to Sudhir Chaudhary (ZEE News) as best Cameraman and to Bindas Bol (Sudarshan News) as Best Show.
Dr. Shankar Lal recipient of Life Time Achievement Award and others were awarded a citation and a memento in the programme in which Oscar Fernandes, Minister of Transport, roads and highways was present as the Chief guest of the programme along with BJP spokesperson.
Beside these other awards too were presented on the day.
On the occasion a conference was also held focusing on the role that the regional newspapers play in the strengthening of this World’s largest democracy. The emphasis was given on how the regional newspapers strengthen our democratic institutions with adherence to secular credentials.
