Ph.D. awardees of Kalimpong felicitated

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 15 October 2013: Two youths of Kalimpong were felicitated in Kalimpong who were awarded the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) by the Visva Bharati University. 

Dr. Norden Michael Lepcha and Dr. Edwin Penjor Bhutia, members of Kalimpong Local Kirk Session were felicitated by the KLKS of UCNI under Eastern Himalayan Church Council.
Dr. Lepcha under the Department of English and OMEL of Visva Bharati University, Bolepur was awarded Ph.D. for his doctoral dissertation on the comparative study of two world famous poets as aesthetes – John Keats of England and Charles Baudelaire of France. 

Dr. Bhutia under the department of Geography from the same university was also awarded Ph.D. for his thesis entitled “Dimensions of Human Resource Development in Kalimpong-Subdivision, Darjeeling District, West Bengal : A Geographical Analysis” which covers both qualitative and quantitative aspects of individuals with regard to their age, sex, caste, religion , occupation, health and income, Governmental and non-governmental organizations. 

Rev. H.D.Subba, Moderator of the Kalimpong Kirk Session during the Church worship in the Worship Centre, Kalimpong congratulated them and expressed pleasure for their academic achievement. Members of Macfarlane Memorial Church and KLKS stated that it proved that God abides faithful and that God crowns honest and sincere efforts with success. They were felicitated by presenting them with citation and Anga Vastra.
