GJM top brass bail rejected, sent to judicial custody

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 17 October 2013: Bail plea for GTA members and GJM leaders Binay Tamang, Kalyan Dewan, Nima Tamang and Kavita Gurung were rejected by the ACJM Kalimpong on 17th October.
All except Nima Tamang were present in the court and brought from Jalpaiguri for the hearing. The Hon'ble ACJM heard the bail application submitted by defense lawyer Rajiv Purajuli but rejected the plea and sent them to 14 days judicial custody in the fresh charge submitted by the police.
They were charged against preventing the entry of hill Trinamul Congress leader KN Subba to his hometown Gorubathan, torching his residence and for conspiring and obstructing the task of the police under the sections 143/427/436/447/120 IPC.
The next hearing for the case will be heard on 31st October. In a dramatic hearing the trio were granted bail on charges of blocking NH 31 A during the GJM sponsored strike and waving black flags to minister Gautam Deb.
In the first hearing of the new charge they were denied bail, instead sent on judicial remand.
