Of them, police arrested some persons just to take preventive measures to maintain peace. “More than 200 people are still wanted according to police records. To maintain peace, police will act at an appropriate time observing the situation in the Hills. Many common people were happy when police arrested several local hoodlums, who used to attack on common people, from different areas,” Mr Pujari said.
Reacting to police arrests, the GJMM president Mr Bimal Gurung in his Facebook post, said that he was shocked following the state’s attitude as its police arrested innocent people on charges of criminal cases.
Mr Gurung has also condemned the role of the state government for unleashing terror in the Hills.
