Mamata hints of strong action against GLP

PTI, Kolkata, 6 Aug 2013: Following reports of mobilisation of Gorkhaland Personnel by the GJM leadership, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today hinted at taking strong steps against the alleged excesses of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha in the Darjeeling hills.

"Yes, I know about the activities of the GLP. I will speak to you on this later," said Banerjee while addressing reporters in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Home Secretary Basudeb Banerjee left for Darjeeling today to review the law and order condition in the Darjeeling hills. According to sources, he plans to meet several senior officials in the administration and senior police officers.
