ABAVP leader to visit Dooars
SNS, Siliguri, 26 August 2013: The mainstream ABAVP leadership seems to have found in the Mamata Banerjee government’s anti-Gorkhaland drive something of a godsend and to make optimum use of the situation, the outfit’s state president, Mr Birsa Tirkey is set to visit the Dooars next month.
“It is time to take sweet revenge against the renegade group that parted company with the parental outfit to curry favour with the GJMM.
Now the turncoats being on the run with the state government zip-fastening on the statehood movement in the Hills as well as in
the plains, the mainstream group would spare no effort to eliminate them from the political theater of the Dooars,” said an observer.
Mr Tirkey is scheduled to come to the Dooars on a four-day visit beginning from 7 September.
The outfit remained demoralised after the splinter group led by Mr John Barla known as the north Bengal branch of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) had put up a good rural poll show in alliance with the GJMM in the core area of the Dooars.
