
Man attempts to kill wife....... Youth’s body found
SNS, Siliguri, 16 July 2013: A man allegedly stabbed his wife suspecting that she was having an extra-marital affair, in Siliguri today.
The incident took place when Saraswati Sherpa (28), the wife, was at her office on Sevoke Road. Police arrested the husband, Sudesh Gurung.
Gurung, a resident of Gangtok and a driver by profession, stabbed his wife when she was walking along the office corridor. Her colleagues later found her bleeding from her abdomen.
The locals beat Gurung up and called police. They also admitted Saraswati to a
private nursing home.
Police arrested Gurung and brought him to the Siliguri district hospital for medical check-up. Gurung said he had stabbed his wife because he suspected she was having an extra-marital relationship.
“She was long involved in the affair,” he said. Saraswati, a resident of Kurseong, had been working with the Yellow Pages in Siliguri for the past one month. She was a resident of Dabgram-Fulbari area.
According to sources, the couple used to quarrel daily when they stayed together. Later they went for a separation. The couple has a seven-year-old son.
