
Governor meets GTA members

Mr Gurung, the
chief executive of GTA, speaking after the meeting, told reporters: “The
Governor has conferred a positive response to the issues discussed in
the meet. Talks were held on ways to make the GTA function in a
full fledged manner. The Governor said the state and the centre should
properly implement the agreement as per the Act.”
Further, Mr
Gurung added that issues regarding the withdrawal of cases registered
against the supporters during the party’s statehood agitation, the
transfer of departments to the GTA, sales tax and the waiver of
electricity dues and establishing a central university in the Hills were
discussed.
