Gorkhaland Territorial Administration member granted bail
Deep Gazmer, TNN | Jun 2, 2013:The elected member of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), Chandra Yonzon, who was arrested for allegedly torching the house of a former GNLF member in Kalimpon's Gorubathan was granted conditional bail by the additional district and session court on Saturday.
The bail was granted on two sureties amounting to Rs 10,000 each.
Yonzon will have to appear before the court every fortnight. He has also been directed by the court not to enter Gorubathan except when appearing in court. The additional district and sessions judge A Bhowmick said if Yonzon is found guilty of being involved in any political activity or crimes, his conditional bail would be rejected with immediate effect. Police arrested Yonzon on May 23 after a GJM mob torched the house of K N Subba, a Trinamool Congress leader in Gorubathan. He is accused of instigating the crowd.
