
4 of Sikkim died near Tista.

At about 4.30 pm in the evening of 9th June the private car heading towards Gangtok fell off the road due to brake fail. It was returning back from Darjeeling via Tista.
Of the dead are Samuel Simon Lepcha 29, his wife Kinju Mingma Doma 26, his sister Catherine Sangay Lepcha 38 along with his wife's brother Kelsang Sherpa 25 of Burtuk. The husband Samuel himself was driving the vehicle. Catherine was DFO of Forest department.
While negotiating a 3 turning loop near the Tista Bazar the car lost control and fell off the road from the first loop, 60 ft down to the next loop. The vehicle turtled and 2 died on the spot while 2 died on the way to the hospital. All were brought to Kalimpong S.D. Hospital. Autopsy of the dead bodies will be done on Monday and handed over to the families.
