Kaleybungratna Puraskar Diwas and Foundation day of Kalimpong Press Club held

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 4 May 2013: The prestigious Kaleybungratna Puraskar was conferred upon Roshni Rai, marathon runner for her effort in promoting marathon to the people of all ages and also making an effort to let the Indian people know that Indian Gorkhas are very much citizens of India as other Indians and they are proud to be Indian.
Roshni is a national and international marathon runner and had qualified the Comrades marathon the longest international marathon competition.
During the 15th foundation day and 5th Kaleybungratna Puraskar Diwas held today in Ramkrishna Rangamanch, Kalimpong she was awarded the award by the Chief guest D.T.Lepcha, Inspector General of Police (Arms), North Bengal.
Special correspondent of Hindustan Times, Amitava Banerjee received the Excellence in Journalism Award for his social contribution through journalism.
The others felicitated on the day were Amir Sundas a budding Gorkha sculptor, Manoj Rai recipient of Godfrey Philips Bravery award, Manoj Bogati, recipient of Sahitya Academy award for young writers, Rockvale Academy for winning the AHLIS Power point presentation for the second consecutive year. 
Marathon runners who participated in the Standard chartered marathon 2013 in Mumbai were also felicitated during the programme.
On the day prizes were awarded to the winners of the creative writing contest organised by the Club. The winners were Catherine Lepcha of Girls HS School (first) and Anjali Sharma of Kalimpong Govt College (second) as well as Parikshit Sharma of Kumudini Homes (first) and Rakesh Rasaily of SUM Institution (second). 
Among the contestants of the photography competition on the theme catch the moment, Avinash Khawas was declared 1st, Kelsang Bhutia 2nd and Emmanuel Chhetri 3rd. They too received the prizes from the guests. Other participants also were awarded certificates.
Quizzers of Saptashree Gyanpith were also felicitated for being North Bengal champion in the Quiz Craft competition organised by IT and NDTV.

A power point presentation by the Rockvale Academy on Career in Journalism was also presented during the programme while students of Kalimpong Girls HS Schools presented dances for the audience, 
Heads, teachers, students of different schools, Colleges and officials of different organisations and offices attended the ceremony.

Nowadays mr editor we could hardly go through the comment section coz every identity is disclosed,why this no annomous column so that people can pour out there anger on vested political interest. Please do have this column so that lets go through some opinion of the mass public. We cannot come out freely for everyone is afraid of the gundas and the netas.And after commenting why so fuss about publishing for example you got to follow up so many secondary forms to fill up,like are the aliens if not fill this line....
