TNN | Mar 11, 2013, KOLKATA: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to visit North Bengal for three days to attend various government programmes and take stock of the development projects that are currently underway.
According to government sources, the chief minister will reach North Bengal on March 12 and hold an administrative meeting with Jalpaiguri district officials at Malbazar circuit house.
She is then scheduled to attend a government programme at Mekhliganj on March 13 to distribute land rights and bicycles to poor villagers. On Thursday (March 14), she is scheduled to hold a meeting with the Adivasi Vikas Parishad.
During her last visit to the Dooars on December 28, the chief minister had distributed land tenure benefits to the poor.
North Bengal development minister Gautam Deb, along with senior district officials, has already made inspection of the places where the chief minister is scheduled to visit and last-minute preparations are going on in full swing.
