GMCC review meeting held

KalimNews, Delhi 5 August 2017: Gorkhaland Movement Coordination Committee (GMCC) Meeting held on 5th August 2017 at Gorkha Bhawan, New Delhi to review the GMCC actions based on the decisions taken in the previous meeting held on the 1st August informed that a GMCC delegation met Darjeeling MP,  SS Ahluwalia on 3rd August and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister and Home Minister through the MP.
For the follow up action on the submitted memorandum and its content a high level steering committee was formed which was approved by the committee.According to Munish Tamang a member of the GMCC wrote in Face book that it met S S Ahluwalia immediately after the meeting and sought to know from him the progress on the matter. It conveyed to the MP about its "impatience on getting no response even after the elapsing of two days since the memorandum was submitted."
Tamang further stated that GMCC reviewed its decision to form global human chain on 15th August and it was resolved that GMCC would seek support from organisations and groups across the globe for the success of this program.
GMCC also resolved that the postcards to be sent by the students to the Prime Minister, would carry a uniform message as drafted by the GMCC. The draft would be released by GMCC at the earliest.
Further it was discussed that GMCC feels that SS Ahluwalia could not function to the extent as desired and wished by the people and if it continues then he would be asked to resign from the post of MP.
It was also told by Kalyan Dewan, the GMCC coordinator GMCC could not hold its proposed token one day hunger strike due to some misunderstanding between the Gorkha Sanyukta Sangharsa Samiti(GSSS) and Delhi unit of GJMM and the same is sorted out.
It was also decided that after 15th August GMCC leaders will camp at Delhi for pressuring the government.
