Darjeeling leader faces Gorkhaland test in Delhi - Morcha man shoved, forced to flee on bike

TT, Calcutta, Aug. 2: A Gorkha Janmukti Morcha leader was allegedly shoved and forced to leave the venue of the Gorkhaland Movement Coordination Committee's meeting in Delhi yesterday by members of an independent organisation spearheading the statehood agitation there.
The current Gorkhaland movement is being organised by the committee formed by 14 political and apolitical organisations in the hills. The Gorkhaland Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti (GSSS), whose members allegedly pushed Morcha vice-president Kalyan Dewan in Delhi, doesn't belong to the committee.
The Samiti is a forum of Gorkhas in Delhi and was launched after the renewed agitation began in June. It has been continuously holding dharnas and rallies in Delhi for the past 45 days on Gorkhaland.
Sources told The Telegraph that there were heated arguments between some members of the committee and the Delhi-based Gorkhaland activists yesterday. Many members of the Samiti had come to the National Cooperative Union of India building in Delhi where the committee was holding a meeting. They arrived to hear the outcome of the meeting.
