Nepalese arrest: DD proceeds for Kolkata

SNS, 15 March 2017, Siliguri: A team of Detective Department (DD) under Siliguri Metropolitan Police (SMP) has gone to Kolkata for the investigation after two citizens from Nepal were arrested with Indian passports at Bagdogra airport last week, SMP arrested Pasang Sherpa and Tempa Bhutia two Nepalese citizens, after they were caught at the immigration counter of the airport on Friday. 
The airport authorities handed them over to the police. The duo had procured Indian passports and planned to go to Macu via Bangkok from Bagdogra airport. 
Preliminary investigation suggested that they had given Rs two lakh to two Siliguri-based persons each for the passports. 
"It appeared that the passports are original. A team of DD went to Kolkata to probe the case. They are likely to visit the Regional Passport Office," said a senior police official. 
The investigation also revealed that one of the arrested persons had also planned to visit Macau in February. 
"But he was stopped at Hongkong International Airport in Hong Kong by the immigration officials and deported to Delhi," the sources said.
