People who came for a religious gathering at Nizamuddin Mosque in New Delhi being taken to the LNJP hospital for Covid-19 test after several of them showed symptoms of the coronavirus on Tuesday.TT Bureau in Raiganj , Malda and Jalpaiguri, 3.04.20: Officials in Malda and South Dinajpur have identified some people who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi last month.

In South Dinajpur, four persons who had been to Delhi for the programme have been sent to a quarantine centre along with their families. Doctors and paramedics have been told to keep a tab on their health, sources said.

“We are also trying to collect details of those with whom these four had come in contact after they returned from Delhi,” said Sukumar Dey, the chief medical officer of health of the district.

In Malda, the administration has identified 10 persons who had been to the Nizamuddin gathering. Nine of them are yet to return to Malda, while another person has reached the district but had not shown any symptoms of Covid-19 before going incommunicado.

“The person and his family members have disappeared. We are trying to locate them,” said a source in the administration. None from outside is being allowed to enter Malda, sources in the district administration said.

“Policemen are on duty at all entry points. Also, four officers of additional district magistrate rank have been assigned to keep a tab on the entry points,” the source said.

In Jalpaiguri, senior administration officials said around 60 per cent of the 9,000-odd migrant workers who had returned from other states had finished 14 days’ of quarantine buit not shown any symptoms of coronavirus infection so far.

6 more cases 
Six persons who had come in contact with the Kalimpong woman who died of Covid-19 have tested positive for the coronavirus. 

“We have, however, made it clear to these people they should continue to be in home quarantine till April 14, then the lockdown ends,” said Abhishek Kumar Tiwary, the district magistrate of Jalpaiguri. 

(KalimNews: All the six have been moved to isolation centre at NBMCH. Of the six, five of them belong to the family consisting of 2 male and 3 female including a girl child of 3 years and one female is their house maid. They belong to the age group 57,52,35,21,19 and 3. Earlier four persons, including a child, who are also family members of the Kalimpong woman who had died from Covid-19, tested positive and are in the isolation centre at Siliguri.Four of them includes, the lady's husband, brother in law, sister in law and daughetr of the sister in law )
