3 Board chiefs resign: Award Wapasi: Fire: Arrest: Celebration

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 13 July 2017: All the 14 chairmen and 16 vice chairmen of different development boards have refused to resign from their respective posts. They have jointly issued a press release stating that it is very unfortunate to compel them to resign from their respective board though it is a nonpolitical body and is formed for the development of the different communities which are constituents of the Gorkha community. Its development is development of Gorkha they expressed in the release. 
M.S.Rai Chairman of West Bengal Khambu Rai Cultural Development Board made a release stating that he has resigned on 8 July from the post. 
Just now Rajen Bhetwal Chairman of Khas Hitkari D Board and Kumar Mangrati of Sharki CDBoard also resigned from their posts. Speaking to the media from Kolkata Mangrati said that he is resigning to support the movement of Gorkhaland.
Several members of different boards also have resigned and are resigning.
Buddha Tamang, Kamal Tamang and Rajendra Tamang members of Tamang CD Board and Meghraj Rai of Khambu Rai CD Board resigned.

Meanwhile recipients of different awards from the government of West Bengal returned their awards. Krishna Singh Moktan recipient of Banga Ratna in 2014 and Karma Yonzon recipient of Sangit Samman in 2016. 

Of the prominent persons to resign from Hill TMC are Binay Ghising general secretary and Kamal Subba asst secretary of Kalimpong Town Committee.
CP Khatiwada working president of Trinamul youth Congress also resigned from his party. 

Bhanu Jayanti was celebrated as Gorkha Ekta Diwas in Kalimpong organised jointly by Nepali Sahitya Adhyan Samity and Gorkhaland Movement Coordination Committee.

Ghayabari Railway station was gutted completely in fire when it was torched by miscreants. House of Sanjay Moktan chairman of Tamang CD Board located near Dr. Grahm's Homes was damaged partially when miscreants torched it last night but local neighbours extinguished it.

Unknown persons torched a Forest Bunglow of Teesta tonight. 

One Dipesh Pradhan of Tarkhola is arrested by Kalimpong Police under Ramphu Check Post in connection with vandalising vehicles near Tarkhola in NH 10. In the incident about 18 Sikkim vehicles carrying food materials were vandalised by breaking windowpanes by some unknown miscreants.

Blocakade on  carrying food and other materials is still going on for Sikkim bound vehicles i at different places of Siliguri specially in the night time . Last night such self styled vigilants stopped two vehicles and seized it handed over them to Siliguri Police. One Sikkim Maruti Breeza car bearing No. SK01PB 2567 was found to have pasted another registration number bearing. WB 74Y 5799 to evade the wrath of the vigilants.
