Man posts 'fake' photograph on Baduria, arrested

Man posts MP |  8 July 2017 |  Kolkata: Police arrested one Bhabotosh Chatterjee on charges of "inciting violence" by posting a still picture of a movie claiming it to be a "true picture of atrocities in Baduria in North 24 Parganas".
He was arrested from his residence at Rupnagar near Sonarpur in South 24 Parganas on Friday night.
Police said the 38-year-old accused was remanded to the custody of the police till July 11.
Police conducted a raid in his house and seized a laptop and a mobile phone.

This comes at the time when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that some people are trying to spread rumours with an intention to escalate the trouble in Basirhat by uploading a still photograph of a Bhojpuri movie as if the incident had taken place in the state.
It may be mentioned that both the Kolkata Police and the state police have been camping to urge people not to spread rumours and also to help the police by passing information if anyone finds people spreading rumours with an intension to create trouble.
