Block roads, directs Bimal Gurung

SNS, Darjeeling, 7 June 2017: Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJMM) president Bimal Gurung asked his party men to takeout a rally from different spots in and around Darjeeling town and blockade the roads in front of Gorkha Ranga Manch for two hours from 1230 p.m. tomorrow as chief minister Mamata Banerjee is supposed to start her Cabinet meeting.
It may be noted that the Cabinet meeting will begin at Raj Bhawan around 2. p.m. tomorrow The administration has brought huge police forces for elaborate security arrangement in Darjeeling Hills.
Notably, the areas and the roads, which have been selected for staging agitation, connect Raj Bhawan and Chowrasta in Darjeeling.
Speaking to the reporters, the GJMM chief Mr Gurung claimed they would sit on the roads, which connect roads of Raj Bhawan, for two hours demanding that Mamata Banerjee would have to adopt a resolution on Bengali language, in her Cabinet meeting."If the state does not take ally decision on Bengali language in the Cabinet meeting tomorrow, we would continue our movement and programmes will be announced tomorrow," Mr Gurung said.
"Despite police objection, we will stage demonstration on roads. Police will do their duties and we will do ours.Agitation in a democratic manner is our right. Language is is mother. We have to protect our mother as well as our language,' Mr Gurung said, adding, "we will not tolerate the politics of chief minister by delivering confusing statements on Bengali language issue. She would have to adopt a resolution in the meeting that Bengali language is not compulsory for the Hills."
"We will stage agitation if administration does not give us permission,' he added.
It may be noted that ignoring rain in Darjeeling GJMM activists took out rally today and attended a meeting at Gurkha Ranga Mancha today. They took out a torch rally in the Darjeeling Down this evening. No untoward incident was reported till this evening during torch rally.
